About Rock Cut Cave Temple

Rock cut Cave Temple of Guntur district was built during 420 – 620 A.D. by Vishnukundi kings and was discovered in the 7th century and is inspired by the architecture of Pallava Mahendra Varman. The Vishnukundi kings dedicated the temple to Anantha Padmanabha and Lord Narashimha. As this temple was used as a resting place for the Buddhists therefore it is connected to Buddhism also. Rock cut Cave Temple is one of the popular historical sites. Tourists can also capture a beautiful view of ancient sculptures attributed to Chalukyan Period.
