About Udaygiri Caves

Udaygiri caves are twenty rock-cut caves of the 5th century CE near Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh. The cave has some of the oldest surviving Hindu temples and archaeology of India. These are the only monument in India that has a resemblance with the architecture and inscription of the Gupta period. One of India's most important archaeological sites, the Udayagiri hills and its caves are protected monuments managed by the Archaeological Survey of India.
