Bibi Ka Maqbara was built by Aurangzeb’s Son Azam Shah in the year 1679 AD in the memory of his mother Rabia Durrani and is an imitation of Taj Mahal It is located around 5 km from the Aurangabad city, the burial place of Aurangzeb wife, Rabia-Durrani and is also known as "poor man's Taj Mahal" owing to it being a poor replica of the Taj. An archaeological museum is built at the back of the tomb. The comparison with the Agra monument has unfortunately somewhat degraded the Aurangabad tomb which in itself displays a worthwhile architectural design, with much distinguished surface ornamentation in the late Mughal style. Sunahri Mahal at the North of the tomb is a beautiful building built in the late Mughal style is worth mentioning because of its patches of old painting and gold work on the walls.
