Overview

The duration of the trek is about 09 days. Kangyatze is one of the famous spot for mountaineers and the adventurous people. The peak is higher than the surrounding mountain ranges. The way up the peak is easier than the other mountains and once you are on the top you would be stuck with wonder as you see the mountain ranges and the beautiful green valley lying beneath. The peak adjacent to Gang yartse is more technical and less preferred. Best time to visit: June to September. This trek gives you an opportunity to experience the beauty of the Himalayas with astonishing Nature. One can see the vivid culture of North India and is a full fun and adventure package. This tour is being crafted in such a way that a traveler should experience the legacy of cultural richness and the scenic beauty of the Himalayas in India so that his travelling to India should not only be a journey for him but an experience in itself

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 Leh to Chilling – Skyu (3500 m) in 5 hours

After Breakfast drive to Chilling. We cross the Zanskar River with a trolley bridge turn wise to join the waiting team on the other side of the river.

Day 2 Skyu to Markha 7-8 hours

From Skyu, follow a good path on the right bank of Markha where one can find great vegetation. Then cross the right bank of river then the barren plain and arrive at Chaluk. Thereafter, walk along the left bank of river and after another crossing climb towards Markha village. Towards the end of the village there are good camp site near the river.

Day 3 Markha to Thachungtse 5-6 hours

Right after breakfast you start trekking in the morning to reach Tchatchutse via Hankar village.

Day 4 Thachungtse to Nimaling 4-5 hours

After breakfast start trekking to reach Nimaling. Nimaling (4900 M) has a sweeping pasture where thousands of sheep, goats and yaks graze during the summer months. Rising to the south is 6400 M high Kang Yatse (Nimaling Peak), a lovely mountain, but not an easy one to climb.

Day 5 Nimaling to advance Base camp

From the camp, start ascending up towards the base camp. The ascending is not tough and the camp is not too far and you are serve hot lunch on your arrival. The base camp is in a small valley just before the peak.

Day 6 Advance Base camp – High Camp peak – Nimaling

Early in the morning we start ascending up to submit the peak. The ascending up is quite tough and a bit technical as you climb towards the top. Then as you reach the peak, you will surely enjoy the unimaginable views that surround the peak. You can see the deep Markha valley beneath, the Stok ranges, and the Zanskar ranges that become bold as they ran towards Rubsho. Then descend down is not so easy and one should follow the instructions of the guide to avoid problem. It would be better to come down to Nimaling on the same day.

Day 7 Summit

Our route initially crosses scree andboulder slopes, and then leads to easy angled snow slopes, which require ice axe andcrampons. The route is not difficult but at this altitude, it will be strenuous. From the summit of  Nimaling , we should see as far as the Karakoram, the Pamirs and Tibet. If it’s warm enough we’ll rest and recover some energy on top before descending to base-camp. 

Day 8 Summit to Nimaling (6 / 7 hrs.)

Today morning after breakfast, start ascending towards Nimaling which is around 6 to 7 hrs trek. The ascending is not tough and the camp is not too far.

Day 9 Nimaling to Chokdo 4-5 Hours & drive to Leh 1-2 hours

After breakfast start trekking to reach Kongmaru La (5100 M). The trek to Kongmaru 
la passes through narrow gorges. From the top of the pass, you can have a view of Ladakh ranges and the sight of villages to the north of Indus valley is excellent. Cross the pass and proceed to Chokdo, it will be the pickup point from where you will drive to Leh.
