The Northeast India is commonly described as "Land of Seven Sisters" It comprises eight states – Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.

If you would like to cover all the Northeast Indian states in one trip, you will need around 15-20 days to fully explore the most important tourist attractions also to be include Darjeeling and Kalimpong in West Bengal, if you’re looking to cover each Northeast State one by one Including Darjeeling and Kalimpong, which is the part of North Bengal 6-8 days are enough for each state.

Northeast is comparatively better than most of another Indian states, but Mizoram and Tripura is the most pocket friendly to visit in the Northeast states.

Yes, most of Northeast states are safe for tourist, but there is high risk to your security of Tripura, Manipur, Nagaland and we advise against all tourist and other non-essential travel to these states due to the threat of terrorist activity, violent crime.

If you would like Sea Beaches and Desert, then you may not find, if you are looking for natural beauty, than Northeast India is heaven for you dream, the most beautiful state (the entire area of a state) but my recommendation would be Sikkim and Meghalaya.

Northeast India is served by major airports, which operated by Domestic/ International Flight as well:- • Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati • Imphal International Airport, Manipur • Shillong Airport, Meghalaya • Pakyong Airport, Sikkim • Silchar Airport, Assam • Dibrugarh Airport, Assam • Dimapur Airport, Nagaland • Agartala Airport, Tripura

Sikkim became a part of the Northeast India on 15th May 1975 And so, neighbour Sikkim is called " only brother of seven sisters states of Northeast India”.

Yes, don’t need to take any permits to visit of Assam, Meghalaya and Tripura but Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur and Nagaland, however, required an ILP or Inner Line Permit to visit. While Sikkim does not require an Inner Line Pass to visit, there are certain areas that need an ILP: Menmecho Lake, Tsomgo Lake, Nathu La and Kupup in the east. Chopta, Chungthang, Lachung, Thangu, Yumesamdong, Yumthang Valley, Lachen and Gurudongmar Lake in the north.

Guwahati is well connected with the entire Northeast Indian States by Road and Air, As we know Guwahati is one of the biggest cities in the region when you can get the Inner Line Passes for other states quite easily.

Northeast States of India, apart from the mesmerising scenic beauty of the natural lush grasslands and landscapes, Northeast India is also home to numerous places blessed with snowfall, where you can enjoy yourself amid the chilling weather and charm of the winter season Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim are the two north east states that receive seasonal snowfall during winter season from October to March every year.

The sobriquet of Seven Sisters was first coined in 1972 by a journalist named Jyoti Prakash Saikia, The Seven Sisters, a “Paradise Unexplored”, is a name given to the contiguous states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura by a journalist Jyoti Prakash Saikia in 1972 during the inaugural foundation of the north east states of India. Long after induction of NEC, Sikkim formed part of the North Eastern Region as the eighth state in 2002. as know Sikkim became brother of Northeast States India “seven sisters” is the similarity between the states, in terms of geographical features, and interdependence among them in the political, social and economic spheres albeit there is great ethnic and religious diversity.
