About Archaeological Site Museum Gwalior
Archaeological site museum of Gwalior is situated in the Gujari Mahal a famous historical monument within the Giant Gwalior Fort. It was built by Raja Mansingh Tomar for his Gujar queen Mrigmnayani and was named after it Gujari Mahal. The museum preserves a large of historical architecture and sculptures which is a masterpiece. As the queen belonged to a lower caste, this palace was built away from the main fort.

The attractive architecture of Gujari Mahal can be best seen through an aerial view. It is a house of devotional statues, weaponry, stone-work artifacts and bronze antiques. The representation of Lord Krishna’s birth and Lord Vishnu’s head speaks of the extraordinary skills of the artisans of that time.
