Kasauli is a small cantonment town located in Solan district of Himanchal Pradesh. It was established in 1842 by Britishers as a colonial retreat for British Army officers. The town is well connected from major cities like Shimla, Ambala and Chandigarh which all are within 100 km from this hill station. The town is located at an elevation of 1900 meters and offers a moderate climate, with temperature ranging from 2 degrees Celsius in winters to 33 degrees in summers. Kasauli is known for Kasauli Brewery which was established in 1820 is one of the oldest scotch Whiskey producers in Asia.
