‘Heritage Tour of West Bengal, Odisha and North East’ is an itinerary designed in such a way which gives you a chance to know about the places of West Bengal, Odisha and Assam. During this tour one can visit the major attractions of North East. The tour also includes Darshan at world-renowned temples of Bhubaneshwar and Puri. The duration of the tour is 14 nights and 15 days, covering the places such as Kolkata, Guwahati, Kaziranga, Jorhat, Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar and Puri One can see the vivid culture of north east India and is a full fun and adventure package. Tour Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Kolkata

On arrival you will be met and transferred to the hotel. The smart city Bhubaneswar is the capital of Indian state Odisha, the name of this city is based on the Hindu God Lord Shiva, Lord Shiva is known as Tribuhuvaneswara or "Lord of the Three Worlds or Universe". Bhubaneswar is also known as the Temple City, because here thousands of Hindu temples of Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu, Ganesh, Krishna and other Hindu gods and goddess are present those are very stunning, "Lingaraja Temple" is one of the famous temple located in Bhubaneswar. Rest of the day at leisure to recover from Jet lag Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 2 Bhubaneswar

Breakfast at hotel. Morning after breakfast depart for a 8 hour tour of Bhubaneshwar. Start with the city tour of Bhubaneshwar visiting the Lingaraj Temple, Rajarani Temple and the Mukteshwar temple. Drive out to the Khandagiri and Udayagiri Caves, Dhaula Giri, Return to the hotel in the evening Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 3 Bhubaneswar

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Atri for hot water spring visit. Atri is around 15 km west of Khurda near Bhubaneswar. Atri is famous for its perennial hot spring. The hot spring is reputed to have medical properties which is used both intensively and extensively for the cure of skin diseases. The water of the hot spring (57 °C) contains small doses of sulphur flavour when heated to 100 °C. There is a Bathing Complex of Govt. of Odisha at Atri. Not far from the Hot spring there is a shrine of Lord Hattakeswar Mahadev. The temple is the venue of a grand annual fair, Makar Jatra, on the day of Makar Sankranti (mid January). On this day the visitors congregate in large numbers to worship Lord Hatakeswar to fulfill their desires and they also bath in the ponds to get cured of their diseases. Return to Bhubaneshwar after the visit. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 4 Bhubaneswar – Puri

Today morning after breakfast check out and drive to Pippili. It is famous for designing beautiful Applique handicrafts. It is a town of artisans famous for their colorful fabrics. The applique work of Pipili is probably most well known handicraft in Puri and surrounding area. Each and every family of darjisahi a well known applique village's people are engaged in this applique craft. This is livelihood of most people here. After this visit drive onward to the Sun Temple Konark, Konark Sun Temple is a 13th-century sun temple at Konark about 35 kilometres (22 mi) northeast from Puri on the coastline of Odisha, India. Dedicated to the Hindu 'god Surya, what remains of the temple complex has the appearance of a 100-foot (30 m) high chariot with immense wheels and horses, all carved from stone. Once over 200 feet (61 m) high, much of the temple is now in ruins, in particular the large shikara tower over the sanctuary; at one time this rose much higher than the mandapa that remains. The structures and elements that have survived are famed for their intricate artwork, iconography, and themes, including erotic kama and mithuna scenes After the visit drive onward to Puri on the beach and check in at the hotel.

Day 5 Puri

Breakfast at hotel. Full day at Jagganath Puri visiting the temple on your own. Jaggannath (viz the swami who take care of the universe) Dhaam is the fourth Dhaam (out of four Dhaams viz Sh Badrinathji Dhaam, Rameswaram Dhaam, Dwarka Dhaam and Jaggannath Dham) of the Sanatan Dharm Hindu followers. Syami Shankaracharya esteblished these and each related to a yug (Satyug, Tretayug, Dwapar and Kalyug) and are situated allmost at the ending points of a direction of Indian territories. Jaggannath Temple is so huge that in Oxford Eng Dictionary took Jaggannath word to express very vast and big viz huge. The country yard is so vast that there are dozens of other temples. This Dhaam belongs to Lord Krishna. In the main temple huge deities of Lord Krishna his elder brother Balramji (Dauji and sister Shubhadraji are established. The dieties are very colourful and emotional it seems that Jaggannathji asking us to come into his arms. Actually this is home of Lord Krishna's Mausi (sister of his mother). During June month a Rath Yatra (Chariot Procession) starts from the Jaggannath temple. Wooden Raths each for Lord Krishna, Balramji and Shubhadraji are prepared and pulled by thousands and thousands devotees. As a matter of fact, it is not possible to anyone to describe even a satisfactory summary about the beauty, charm and devotion of this Dhaam.

Day 6 Puri

Breakfast at hotel Full day to continue exploring the Jagganath Puri dham. This day to include the visit The Vimala Temple or Bimala Temple, which is a Hindu temple dedicated to goddess Vimala (Bimala), located within the Jagannath Temple complex in Puri in the Indian state of Odisha. It is generally regarded as a Shakti Peeth, among the holiest temples dedicated to the Hindu Goddess. The temple is in the south-west corner of the inner enclosure of the Jagannath temple complex and on the western corner of the tower of Jagannath, next to the sacred pond Rohini kunda. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay. 

Day 7 Puri

Breakfast at hotel Start on a drive of 100 miles to the Taratarini Temple on the Kumari hills at the bank of the River Rushikulya near Brahmapur city in Ganjam District, Odisha, India is worshiped as the Breast Shrine (Sthana Peetha) and manifestations of Adi Shakti. The Tara Tarini Shakti Peetha is one of the oldest pilgrimage centers of the Mother Goddess and is one of four major ancient Tantra Peetha and Shakti Peethas in India. The mythological texts recognize four major Shakti Peethas: Tara Tarini (Stana Khanda), near Brahmapur, Bimala (Pada Khanda) inside the Jagannath Temple, Puri, Kamakhya (Yoni Khanda), near Guwahati and Dakshina Kalika (Mukha Khanda) in Kolkata. There are 52 other sacred Shakti Peethas, which originated from the limbs of Mata Sati's corpse in the Satya Yuga. The shrine is considered as one of the most Shakti Peethas & Tantra Peethas and major pilgrimage centres of Shakta (Shaktism)sect of Hinduism. It is believed that the shrine is a Shakti Peetha.[3] Shakti Peethas are holy abodes of Parashakti. This is believed to have originated from the mythological story, of falling of the body parts of the corpse of Sati Devi, when Shiva carried it and wandered. On return have a break at the Chilka Lake (Subject to availability of time). Return to hotel for dinner and overnight stay. 

Day 8 Puri – Bhubaneswar – Kolkata – Bagdogra – Darjeeling

Depart early morning from Puri to the Bhubaneshwar airport. On arrival connect flight to Kolkata. On arrival proceed by road to Darjeeling. On arrival check in at the hotel.

Dinner and overnight at hotel. 

Day 9 Darjeeling

Early morning tour to Tiger Hills (8364 Ft / 2550 Mts at around 4 AM) to view sunrise over Kanchenjunga Peak. On way back visit Ghoom Monastery. Proceed to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast 02 hrs Joy Train Ride (subjected to availability & operational condition). Afternoon visit to Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park (Closed on Thursday), Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Tibetan Refugee self-help (Closed on Sunday) Center & Tea Estate.

Dinner and overnight at hotel

Day 10 Darjeeling – Kalimpong

After breakfast transfer to Kalimpong. check-in to your THE ELGIN SILVER OAKS. After freshen up half day city tour visiting the Mangal Dham, Delo Hill, Dr. Grahams Home, Durbin Dhara Hills & Flowers Nurserie. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay. 

Day 11 Kalimpong – Gangtok

After early breakfast board your vehicle to Gangtok (5412 Ft / 1650 Mts, 75 Kms / 02 Hrs). Check in at the HOTEL. After a short break proceed for a city tour sightseeing covering Rumtek Monastery, Jhakri Water Fall, Do-rul Chhorten, Research Institute of Tibetology (Closed on Sunday), Directorate of Handicraft & Handloom (Closed on Sunday) and Flower Show.

Dinner and overnight at Hotel

Day 12 Gangtok

After breakfast, in the morning, start for excursion to Tshangu Lake (12400Ft / 3780 Mts / 43Kms in 3Hrs one way from Gangtok). Situated at a height of 12400Ft / 3780 Mts / 43Kms in 3Hrs one way, with an average depth of 50 ft. The cool water of the Lake is perfectly attuned with the scenic beauty around. Back to Gangtok and dinner and overnight at Hotel. 

Day 13 Gangtok – Kolkata

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Bagdogra airport for flight to Kolkota. On arrival you will be met and transferred to the hotel. Rest of the day free. Dinner and overnight at hotel

Day 14 Kolkata

Today after breakfast visit the famous Kalighat Temple. The Kalighat Kali Temple is a Hindu temple in West Bengal, India dedicated to the Hindu goddess kali. It is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas. Kalighat was a Ghat (landing stage) sacred to Kali on the old course of the Hooghly river (Bhagirathi) in the city of Kolkata. The name Calcutta is said to have been derived from the word Kalighat. The river over a period of time has moved away from the temple. The temple is now on the banks of a small canal called Adi Ganga which connects to the Hoogly. The Adi Ganga was the original course of the river Hoogly. Hence the name Adi (original) Ganga. Kalighat is regarded as one of the 51 Shakti Peethas of India, where the various parts of Sati's body are said to have fallen, in the course of Shiva's Rudra Tandava. Kalighat represents the site where the toes of the right foot of Dakshayani or Sati fell. 

Day 15 Kolkata Departure
