Telangana

Situated between the Eastern Ghats and the Bay of Bengal to its east, Telangana is one of the most important coastal and port State in the eastern shore of India and came into existence after it was cut out of Andhra Pradesh on 02nd June 2014. Hyderabad is the capital city of Hyderabad. the Charminar is a 16th-century mosque with 4 arches supporting 4 towering minarets. The monument overlooks the city's long-running Laad Bazaar. Once the seat of the Qutb Shahi dynasty, the Golconda Fort is a former diamond-trading center. In the city of Warangal, the centuries-old Warangal Fort features carved stone towers and gateways.   • Bonalu: This folk festival of Bonalu is famous in the Telangana region brings an offering to the Goddess Mahankali. The Mahankali temple is located in the busy streets of Secunderabad area. 
 
  • Batakamma: Batakamma is a special festival celebrated with religious fervour in the Telangana region. Batakamma means ‘immortal woman’. It is a month long festival where Goddess Batakamma’s idol is worshipped and is made to float on the rivers and lakes. 
  • Yedupayala: EduPaayala Jaathara This place is in Medak District and is a sacred spot, where the seven tributaries of the Manjira join and flow together. The annual Jatara held on Mahasivaratri day attracts thousands of pilgrims.
  • Ayak or Bhimanna: This festival is celebrated by Kolam tribal inhabiting Laindiguda, Utmur Taluq Adilabad district.  This falls in the Kolam month of satti. Ayak also known as Bhimana or Bhimdev, is the principal deity of the Kolams.  
  • Lambadi: Associated with daily tasks harvesting, planting, sowing etc., the Lambadi is performed by the Ganjaras, a seminomadic tribe seen all over Andhra Pradesh. Costumes embroidered with glass beads and mirrors, ornate jewellery, ivory bangles, brass anklets and a natural rhythm make this dance a colourful exposition of joy which is the highlight of many a festive occasion.   • Gonda: A tribal dance performed by youths, it is a joyous celebration of the victory of Lord Krishna and Lord Rama over the demons. The festival activities in the Telangana are marked by spectacular fireworks, and the burning of the effigies representing the vanquished demons.

  • Kuntala Waterfall, Adilabad: Kunrtala Waterfall is the highest waterfalls in Telangana, which lies amidst dense forests. It is 45 meters tall. It is bestowed with nature’s beauty located in the middle of the mountain range of Sahyadri. This fall receives its source from the River Kadam. Tourist will fell in love after visiting this waterfall. According to myths, it is believed that the name of this waterfall got its name from Shakuntala. 
  • Kawal Wildlife Sanctuary, Adilabad: This is another popular tourist destination in Adilabad. It is around 94km from Adilabad. Kawal Wildlife Sanctuary is a popular wildlife sanctuary situated amidst dense forest. This wildlife sanctuary was established in the year 1964.   • Bhadrakali Temple, Warangal: Bhadrakali Temple belongs to the 8th century and it is among the oldest temples constructed for Goddess Bhadrakali.
