Grand Temple Tour of Tamil Nadu

Day 1 Arrive Madurai-Kanyakumari (By flight/Road & 04 hours approx.)

Arrive at Madurai Airport/joining point and get driven to the utterly beautiful city of Kanyakumari. The city is not only famous for its temple dedicated to Goddess Kanyakumari but also for an amazing sight of confluence of three major water bodies surrounding Indian peninsula- Arabian Sea, Indian Ocean and Bay of Bengal. On arrival, check in and head out for the viewpoint to see the sun setting in the horizon where three grand water bodies become one. Enjoy the walking tour through the lanes of the local market filled with souvenirs and aroma of local food.

Overnight stay in Kanyakumari.

Day 2 Kanyakumari-Rameswaram (06 hours approx.)

Wake up early for breakfast and head out for a steamer boat ride to Vivekananda Rock Memorial. Fondly called as Swami Vivekananda, was a Hindu Monk who attained enlightenment on this Rock and later founded Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission in the name of his Guru. Close by is another piece of marvel artwork- The Thiruvalluvar Statue, dedicated to Tamilian Poet and philosopher. Return back to the mainland and visit Kanyakumari Temple.

After a short break drive to Rameswaram for an overnight stay. 

Day 3 Rameswaram-Madurai (03 hours approx.)

After breakfast, proceed to visit the captivating Rameswaram Temple. Non-Hindus are not allowed inside the main temple. There are 22 sources of water from different rivers and it is considered to be auspicious to take bath from those sources before entering the main temple. Later, head towards Danushkodi to witness the evidence of magic that happened centuries ago when Lord Rama and his army created a bridge with floating rocks over the ocean to reach Lanka, now Sri Lanka.

After a blissful day drive to Madurai for an overnight stay. 

Day 4 Madurai-Thanjavur (03 hours approx.)

Today after breakfast we will visit the Hall of Thousand Pillars, Thirumalai Nayakkar Palace and Temple and spend the rest of the day admiring the beauty of Sri Meenakshi Amman Temple. Later, head off to Thanjavur. The city is adorned with several temples, one of which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After arrival, check in and enjoy a guided walking tour.

Overnight stay in Thanjavur. 

Day 5 Thanjavur

After breakfast, head out to visit Brihadishwara Temple-part of "Great Living Chola Temples" a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Thanjapureswarar Temple, Punnainallur Mariamman temple, Thanjavur Palace and Saraswathi Mahal Library.

Overnight stay in Thanjavur. 

Day 6 Thanjavur-Mahabalipuram (07 hours approx.)

This morning after breakfast we will drive to Mahabalipuram- the majestic shore temples are located here. Enroute, visit the Temple of Gangaikonda Cholapuram and the Airavatesvara Temple at Darasuram- both are part of "Great Living Chola Temples" a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After a fairly long drive, treat your eyes with mesmerising views of sunset at the beach. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Overnight stay in Mahabalipuram. 

Day 7 Mahabalipuram-Chennai (1.5 hours approx.)

Today after breakfast proceed to visit the Group of monuments in Mahabalipuram including the shore temple. Also visit the Varaha Cave, Descent of the Ganga, Krishna’s Butterball, Sthalasayana Perumal Temple and Pancha Rathas. Later, we will drive to Chennai and visit Fort St. George, Government Museum, Santhome Cathedral Basilica and Valluvar Kottam. Spend the rest of the day in leisure at Marina beach.

Overnight stay in Chennai. 

Day 8 Chennai-Tirupati Balaji-Chennai

Wake up early this morning for a day excursion to the sacred and very popular Tirupati Balaji Temple, after breakfast. You will enjoy the ride to the top of the hill and seek blessings at the temple.

After a blessed day, return back to the hotel for an overnight stay in Chennai. 

Day 9 Chennai

Trip ends with departure transfer to the airport after breakfast.
